New Thrill 5d Theater Set To Debut On Carnival Breeze

Carnival Cruise Lines launched “The 5D Challenge: TRIVIAL PURSUIT Edition” – a Facebook promotion designed to highlight the new Thrill 5D Theater set to debut on the Carnival Breeze in June 2012. The contest can be found on Carnival’s Facebook page under the Carnival Breeze tab at www.facebook.com/carnival.

In addition to the Thrill 5D Theater, Carnival Breeze will be the first ship to feature all of the new entertainment options introduced as part the Fun Ship 2.0 enhancement program, a $500 million initiative that will completely transform Carnival’s on-board guest experience.

Also, many of the ship’s entertainment features and other elements are highlighted within a new virtual tour, and series of panoramic images and videos debuting today on www.carnivalbreeze.com.

With Carnival Breeze’s Thrill 5D Theater, guests will enjoy an exhilarating, multi-dimensional experience that will make them feel like they are actually in the movie. The theater combines a high-definition 3D projection system with 4D elements such as squirting water and bubbles, and original special effects that will tickle guests’ legs, blow air on their necks and poke them in their seats. Seats within the theater will shift back and forth, move from side to side and also vibrate, creating an exciting “fifth-dimensional” element. Guests will receive special 3D glasses that deliver a truly immersive movie-going experience.

Captain Morgan (Ship wrecked Bar build) on the Rocks at Half Moon Cay -- 03/07/11

The crescent-shaped private Bahamian island that is one of Carnival Cruise Lines and Holland American Cruise Lines most popular ports of call – now features a truly unique watering hole called 'Captain Morgan on the Rocks'.

Inspired by the adventures of real-life privateer Captain Henry Morgan, the nautical-themed bar resembles a 101-foot-long twin decked, three-masted schooner that appears to be “washed up” on the island’s sand-swept beach.

With a capacity of 326, the two-level 'Captain Morgan on the Rocks' features engaging maritime and historic references, including rum casks for seats, cannon barrels for bar stools and palm leaf-styled ceiling fans. The mid-deck features another bar that is surrounded by cannons that release mists of water to keep guests cool in the Bahamian sun. The crafted wooden walls, decks, surfaces and fittings also include logos, messaging and images that are “burnt” into the wood to tell the story of the famous captain, who sailed Bahamian waters 350 years ago.

Outdoor seating is available on two awning-covered, themed decks, with the open upper deck offering sweeping vistas of Half Moon Cay’s turquoise waters, a beautiful white sand beach, and an unspoiled migratory bird sanctuary.

Naturally, the bar features different varieties of Captain Morgan rum products as well as a wide selection of premium drinks from across the Diageo portfolio.

Located less than 100 miles from Nassau, Half Moon Cay is a 2,400-acre private island offering the quintessential Caribbean experience, with a 700-acre lagoon, private cabanas, a children’s water park, and a wide variety of shore excursion opportunities. Half Moon Cay has also been named “Best Private Island” by Porthole Cruise Magazine based on readers’ choice for the past 10 years.

Half Moon Cay is currently featured on itineraries of six Carnival “Fun Ships” — Carnival Fascination from Jacksonville, Carnival Destiny, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor and Carnival Liberty from Miami, and Carnival Legend from Tampa. As well as a number of itineraries with Holland American Cruise Line ranging from 7-21 days.

Carnival Magic will call Galveston Home
-- 7/06/10

All we can say is, Texas get ready! Beginning November 14, 2011, Carnival Cruise Lines' newest ship, the Carnival Magic, will be calling Galveston home. Additionally, the Carnival Triumph will reposition from New Orleans to Galveston to operate year-round four- and five-day Caribbean cruises from that port beginning October 6, 2011. In turn, the Carnival Conquest and Carnival Ecstasy, both of which are currently based in Galveston, will reposition to New Orleans to operate year-round departures from that port, returning the line to pre-Katrina capacity levels there.

It's practically impossible to do anything on a small scale in Texas, and homeporting the Carnival Magic in Galveston is no exception - it will be the largest-ever capacity commitment by a cruise line to the Lone Star state! The Carnival Magic will debut in Europe in May 2011, offering seven-, nine- and 12-day Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona May 1 to October 16, 2011; followed by a 16-day trans-Atlantic crossing from Barcelona to Galveston departing October 28, 2011. After October, guests can choose from two different week-long itineraries from Galveston, including seven-day western Caribbean voyages to Montego Bay, Grand Cayman and Cozumel, and week-long eastern Caribbean cruises to Nassau, Freeport, and Key West.
